Founded in 2009 by Ms. Carol Graham Jamison; opened her first Battered Womens Safe House. Having at one time in her life experienced domestic violence; while on a few errands, drove by the city Shelter in Charlotte, North Carolina, saw a young woman sitting on the curb with her Two small children, shaking and crying. she pulled over and asked the young woman why was she sitting on the curb with her children. The young women explained that her husband was beating and abusing her and their children, and that there was no room in the shelter, and she had nowhere to go, and was afraid for her children. Understanding the woman's trauma, she took the woman and her kids to her house and cared for them until the women was able to recover and find the help she needed. Over the years Ms. Jamison has helped hundreds of women who were victims of Domestic Violence. Her empathy for those in crisis motivated her to open other houses, that provides safe and clean transitional housing to those in crisis.
